There is no better way to begin snowshoeing than just going out and doing it. Snowshoeing is the fastest growing winter sport because it is easy to learn, virtually inexpensive, poses little risk of injury and is a great way to get outside and exert energy during the winter months.
The Forest County Coalition on Activity and Nutrition will hold a snowshoe event at 2 pm on February 15 at Forest County’s Otter Springs Recreation Area. No experience is necessary and there is no cost to participate. We will accommodate all skill levels. Bring your own snowshoes or request ahead of time to borrow one of ours. Participants should wear snow boots or waterproof hiking boots, dress in layers appropriate for winter weather, and bring drinking water.
Registration for the event is required. You may register online here or call Michelle Gobert 715-478-7797 to register via phone. Registration will close Monday, February 10th at 5:00 p.m.
