Community Snowshoe Event a Success!

The Forest County Coalition on Activity and Nutrition (CAN!) hosted a snowshoe event this past Saturday at Otter Springs Recreation Area. Nearly 50 participants of all ages and abilities got out and enjoyed the beautiful groomed trails and sunny weather. Hikers came from almost every community in Forest County and from as far as the Green Bay and Milwaukee areas.

Thanks to the Forest County Maintenance Department, the Forest County Highway Department and Town of Lincoln for a great job plowing the parking area and road at Otter Springs. Special thanks to the School District of Crandon for providing snowshoes for more than 10 first-time snowshoers. Everyone appreciated a fun outing because of the work that was put in prior to Saturday’s event.

Forest County CAN! Coalition is a coalition of community members, business owners, county agencies and non-profit organizations working together to improve the health and well-being of Forest County residents.  Information on Forest County CAN!, including future events, can be found at the website at or by following them on Facebook.
