For our second trail in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest series, we are featuring the Franklin Lake Trail! Inhabited by towering northern hardwood and hemlock forests, you are guaranteed to be taken aback by the presence of these beautiful plants! Located 9 miles east of Eagle River on Highway 70 to Forest Road 2178, head south on 2178 for 3 miles to Forest Road 2181 then east on 2181 for 5 miles to the campground and trailhead!
